Tanpa buang waktu, secara rutin kami lalu mengkonsumsi bawang putih, 1 siung setiap harinya, dan tidak sampai seminggu ternyata kadar kolesterol sudah turun, bahkan sedikit di bawah titik tengah normal.
Sejak itu setiap kami merasa tubuh kurang enak dan kemungkinan besar kadar kolesterolnya sedang menggeliat ke atas, kami pun langsung menyantap bawang putih. Dalam 1-3 hari biasanya sudah terasa enak kembali. Praktis, bukan?
Cara herbal alias tradisional seperti di atas memang merupakan langkah praktis dalam mengatasi kolesterol. Dan ternyata tidak hanya bawang putih saja yang manjur untuk menangkal si penyebab aterosklorosis ini. Ada banyak alternatif pengobatan tradisional di sekitar kita, yang berbahan utama tanaman dan buah, yang bisa dikaryakan. Apa sajakah itu?
- Alpukat. Caranya, 1 buah alpukat matang dimakan mentah setiap hari.
- Kubis. Caranya, 1 buah kubis segar dicuci hingga bersih lalu dibilas dengan air matang. Potong-potong seperlunya lalu dijus dan diminum air sarinya. Lakukan setiap hari.
- Belimbing Manis. Caranya, masing-masing 1 buah belimbing manis ukuran besar dimakan pada pagi dan malam hari.
- Akar Manis. Caranya, 10 gram akar manis direbus dengan 3 gelas air bersih hingga tersisa 1 gelas. Setelah dingin, saring airnya, bagi menjadi dua, lalu masing-masing diminum pada pagi dan malam hari.
- Kacang Tanah. Caranya, 1 genggam daun kacang tanah dicuci bersih, diiris halus, lalu diseduh dengan secangkir air panas. Biarkan selama 40 menit, lalu saring dan minum airnya selagi hangat. Lakukan setiap hari pada saat perut kosong (1 jam sebelum makan).
- Tempe. Caranya, 100 gram tempe dipotong-potong sesuai selera, lalu direbus / dikukus / dibacem. Makan bersama nasi sebagai lauk.
- Angkak. Caranya, 1 sendok teh angkak ditumbuk halus, lalu diseduh dengan secangkir air panas. Minum airnya selagi hangat. Lakukan setiap hari.
- Labu Siam. Caranya, 1 buah labu siam ukuran sedang dikupas, potong kecil, lalu dijus atau diparut + peras airnya + saring. Minum setiap hari.
- Bawang Merah. Caranya, 20 gram bawang merah segar diiris tipis-tipis dan dimakan bersama nasi. Lakukan tiga kali sehari.
- Bawang Putih. Caranya, 1-2 siung bawang putih dibersihkan dan dimakan langsung. Lebih baik jika minum air hangat setelahnya. Lakukan setiap malam sebelum tidur.
- Seledri. Caranya, 30 gram akar seledri segar dicuci bersih lalu direbus dengan 2 gelas air bersih hingga tersisa 1 gelas. Setelah dingin, saring airnya dan minum sekaligus.
